The Beach Boys’ frontman Brian Wilson has churned out many hits over his career, but it turns out they weren’t always beloved.
Brian’s high school music teacher Fred Morgan: “Brian wrote a composition for me and it turned out to be ‘Surfin.’ That composition got an F, but it made a million dollars.” Brian’s failing grade has now been changed to an A on this assignment by Dr. Landesfeind! pic.twitter.com/ICANT605Kx

A tweet from Wilson’s Twitter account showed a picture of the singer with Dr. Landesfeind, the current principal of Hawthorne High School which Wilson attended. Including a quote from the Beach Boy’s former music teacher, Fred Morgan, the caption reveals that Wilson received an F in music class for the composition that became “Surfin.’”
“Brian wrote a composition for me and it turned out to be ‘Surfin,’” Morgan said. “That composition got an F, but it made a million dollars.”
However, that mistake has finally been reversed.
“Brian’s failing grade has now been changed to an A on this assignment by Dr. Landesfeind!” the tweet concludes.
“Surfin’” was the Beach Boys’ first single and thus began the legendary band’s career, so this grade change is better late than never.
