Mary Timony is an indie rock veteran, having launched her career with Washington, D.C.. band Autoclave. and more recently, she’s been a member of Ex Hex and Wild Flag, along with members of Sleater-Kinney. But back in the ‘90s she fronted Helium, a group that balanced tuneful pop with abrasive, sometimes loud and intense noise-rock tendencies. And though they only lasted a few years, Timony is playing their catalog on the road with a whole new band. So anyone who’s missed them over the past 20 years now has a chance to catch up.
