Not a person but a band, Washington’s Naomi Punk are a curious group. They play noisy, distorted art punk that often takes on strange and unusual shapes. At their core, they’re not a terribly complicated band. But they’re not a straightforward one either. Rather, they take the basic makeup of a garage punk band and start twisting it and mangling it until it sounds like something alien and peculiar. It sounds like punk but probably not any punk you’ve heard before.
